Christian Education
Christian education is extremely important in today's society. Children need to be learning why they believe what they believe, not questioning everything they believe. Here at TBCS, children get a firm foundation of the truths of the Bible. As teachers, we pray with them, encourage them to do right, and correct them when they are wrong. We care not just about their education, but also about their eternity. That's what makes our school different from the "norm." We are always striving for excellence, and we truly love our kids!

Language Arts

This year in language, the sixth graders will be reviewing all eight parts of speech and will use them extensively in their writing. They will do a research paper which will use both their grammar and researching skills. With our new computer lab, they will be able to look up information online which will help them in writing their papers. They will also be reviewing punctuation and will be challenged to use it correctly in their writing. By the end of sixth grade, the grammar basics will be etched into the students' writing. smile

Math
Math is a challenging but exciting year for sixth grade students. Many of the concepts they learn will be new this year. We will encounter harder story problems as well as new things such as using a compass or putting information into proportion form. However, because of the constant review throughout the book, students will conquer these new challenges and will enjoy learning and perfecting these new concepts.

Science
This year, the fifth grade students will join the sixth grade students in learning about all different kids of things in science! We will talk about chemistry and the periodic table, invertebrates, personal health, and so much more! The ACSI curriculum allows hands on experiences to help the students understand the concepts better. With experiments and open ended questions, students will love science and will be wanting more!

Social Studies
This year in history, students will be learning about the "New World." To name a few things, we will study about how America became a nation, about Canadian provinces, and about Central and South American countries. The comprehensive map studies will allow students to learn many different locations of North and South American countries and states. By the end of the year, we will have covered the entire left hand side of the map.
