Traverse Bay Christian School

Traverse Bay Community

The community of Traverse Bay Christian School is built on a solid commitment of honoring Jesus Christ in all that we do! Parents, teachers, and students work together, learn together and have fun together in this tight knit community of faith.

Traverse Bay Christian School exists to support the family in educating their children, and is a place that encourages family involvement. On any given day, parents can be found in the halls, in the classroom, or on the playground, actively participating in their child's education. Parent volunteers are an important part of the process, and their involvement is welcomed and encouraged in a variety of areas. This high degree of parent involvement, along with small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios creates a feeling of family among the community here.

Here are a few of the other elements that help to make TBCS a special community ....

Special events like Thanksgiving Feast, Christmas Concert, Spring Program, and Poetry Slam throughout the year are a chance to come together as a community and celebrate student accomplishments.

F3 events
are planned throughout the year as a time of fellowship for the whole school family. Some of our favorites include a fall Bonfire, Christmas caroling, Ice Skating at Center Ice, and more!

Moms In Touch is a group of moms that meets weekly to pray for the school, staff, students and families. The school publishes a list of monthly "Prayer Targets", which can be obtained from the office from anyone wishing to uphold the school in prayer.

In addition, the school staff also meets for prayer each morning, and ensures that every student is prayed for specifically by sending "Prayer Grams" to each student throughout the year.

Families come together to help raise financial support for the school during the Walk-a-Thon event each spring.

Another way to be involved in the school is by joining one of the Planning committees that work on issues like strengthening curriculum, improving building and grounds, and working on marketing and fund-raising.

Whatever your heart is and wherever your talents lie, there is a place for you to be involved in what God is doing in the community of Traverse Bay!
